Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips

Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips is an internist and the physician director of Population Care at Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States (Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC).

She has served in several positions within Kaiser Permanente, including chief of Internal Medicine, running medical offices, and since 2003, being responsible for the design and implementation of Wellness, Prevention, and Disease Management activities for the organization.

Amy earned her bachelors degree from Johns Hopkins University. After growing fond of sailboat racing on the Chesapeake Bay, she stayed in the area to do her medical training at University of Maryland in Baltimore, and joined Kaiser Permanente after her residency. She spends her free time biking, skiing, gardening, and shuttling her children from one activity to another.

Her company, Kaiser Permanente International, brings the knowledge of Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest and most successful organized health care delivery systems, to governments, health plans, and other international institutions that are striving to improve their health care system.
